HAVN Retreat – In Development

Development

The Vision

HAVN is taking shape across nearly 40 acres of untouched land in the mountains of Western Maine—a landscape defined by wooded ridgelines, dramatic cliffs, a winding brook, and a spring-fed pond hidden beneath the trees. From the beginning, the goal has not been to fill the property with cabins. It is to create a small collection of private retreats that feel discovered rather than developed.

The first phase of HAVN includes two intimate, design-forward cabins created specifically for couples seeking solitude in nature without sacrificing comfort or experience. Rather than repeating the same design twice, each cabin is developing its own identity: one inspired by the warmth and romance of a modern Alpine chalet, and the other rooted in earthy, mid-century design. Both are guided by the same philosophy, thoughtful architecture, rich natural materials, expansive forest views, and private outdoor spaces that make the landscape part of the stay.

Every detail is being considered through the way a guest will eventually experience it. The quiet drive across the brook. The first glimpse of a cabin tucked between the trees. Mornings spent looking into the forest, evenings beside the fire, and nights moving between a private sauna, hot tub, and starlit deck. The cabins may be small, but the experience surrounding them is being designed to feel expansive.

Building HAVN begins far beyond the cabins themselves. A new bridge, private roadways, utilities, cabin sites, and trails are all part of transforming a remote piece of land into a retreat while preserving the qualities that make it special. Each structure is being carefully positioned for privacy, views, and a sense of complete separation from the world outside.

HAVN is becoming more than a place to stay. It is being created as a place to retreat—to reconnect with the earth, with the person beside you, and with the quieter parts of yourself.

01

01 The Initial Vision

HAVN begins with nearly 30 acres of untouched land in Western Maine. The vision is to create a collection of private, design-forward cabins that feel immersed in nature, each offering its own distinct experience while sharing the same focus on solitude, comfort, and connection.

02 Land Development + Foundation

The first stage of construction focuses on creating access to the property, clearing each cabin site, and preparing the land for the foundations. Every decision is being made carefully to preserve privacy, protect the natural landscape, and position each cabin for the best possible views.
