We’ve Officially Broken Ground at HAVN

After months of planning, designing, and imagining what this land could become, the first chapter of HAVN is officially underway.

We have broken ground on our private retreat in the mountains of Western Maine.

Making the Way In

The earliest phase of construction is focused on creating access through the property. Road development is now underway, opening a path deeper into the woods and toward the first cabin sites.

It may still look like freshly moved earth, heavy equipment, and a winding road through the trees—but this is the point where a vision we have carried for months begins to take physical form.

Across the Brook

One of the most important parts of developing HAVN is creating reliable access across the brook.

The bridge connects the entrance of the property to the land beyond it, where the cabins will eventually be tucked into the woods. It may become a quiet, almost unnoticed part of the guest experience, but it is a major part of making the entire retreat possible.

The First Two Cabins

HAVN will begin with two private cabins, each designed as an intimate retreat for two.

Every cabin will have its own private outdoor experience, including a hot tub, sauna, firepit, and space to slow down beneath the trees. Inside, expansive windows and thoughtful, nature-forward interiors will create a place that feels connected to the landscape without sacrificing comfort.

The two cabins will each have a distinct design identity, but both will share the same purpose: creating space to disconnect from the noise, reconnect with each other, and experience solitude in nature.

Building With the Land

From the beginning, the vision for HAVN has been shaped by the property itself.

The woods, brook, cliffs, trails, and natural clearings are not simply a backdrop for the retreat—they are the experience. As construction progresses, our goal is to preserve the feeling of being immersed in the land while creating something intentional, comfortable, and quietly luxurious within it.

There is still a great deal of work ahead. Roads must be completed, the permanent bridge installed, foundations prepared, and the cabins built from the ground up.

But this is the moment HAVN begins to become real.

Follow the Journey

We will be sharing the full process as HAVN takes shape, including construction updates, cabin designs, behind-the-scenes decisions, and eventually, opening and booking information.

This is only the beginning.
